The Learning Center of the Nichols Hills United Methodist Church

The Learning Center

The Learning Center at Nichols Hills United Methodist Church is a non-profit program that seeks to provide a safe, healthy, nurturing, and responsive environment where children are supported in their development and respected as individuals.  A developmentally appropriate play-based curriculum is provided. Activities are planned that interest children and offer a variety of experiences to foster development in all areas.  Teachers read to the children at least once a day and books are available to children in their classrooms.

Children, ages eight weeks through preschool, may attend up to five days Monday through Friday. Classes are open 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays; 9 a.m. to 1:59 p.m. on Fridays. Class sizes are small and teacher/child ratios are low – generally better than required by DHS licensing.

Chapel is offered three times a week. The children learn Christian based songs and Bible stories.

The school year session typically follows Oklahoma City Public Schools’ calendar.   We offer a summer session that begins two weeks after the school year ends and ends two weeks before the school starts in the fall.
